12/5/2011 The Catcher in the Rye The Catcher in the Rye, by J.D. Salinger, is a great book. The main character Holden pageant umpteen characteristics and traits th crudeout the entire story. Some of them are right and some of them not so good. One of the more special K motifs that are displayed most often in the story is how Holdens lying habit is to not only himself, but a lot of the multitude around him. lastly the last national is how Holden does not hope things to change. The first example is when Holden lies to Mr. Spencer. He be to him because he was scared of the impartiality. It started when Holden went to go visit him. They started talking active Holden getting kicked out of Pencey and then they started talking approximately Holdens future. You can describe that he was getting irritated and disquieting when Mr. Spencer was lecturing him. Thats when he felt it was appropriate to lie. Holden told Mr. Spencer that he needed to go get his gym equipment. fifty-fifty a lie this dumb tells a lot about a person. Just because he doesnt like facing the truth doesnt mean he needs to lie. By lying, it tells people that you are afraid and maybe insecure. The next popular topic in the book is how Holden doesnt neediness anything to change.
