Being an out bisexual female in a heterosexual marriage brings with it the risk of a dual rejection from both the lesbian community and the heterosexual community (Firestein).
The added dimension facing a large percentage of bisexuals are those with multiple identities. For instance if one is also of a nonage population, these dual identities raise the question of how their bisexuality fits in with their other identities, for instance , if the bisexual individual happens to be a outgrowth of the non-dominant racial group, they must consider how their bisexuality is viewed by members within their community (Ochs & Rowley, 2009).
