Tma 01 Starting with Psychology

Task 1

In this essay im going to talk around psychological Images, creations, and Schemas and how they have an impact on our memory and how they stand by us to remember information. I am going to rationalise about experiments that show supporting evidence of each collection to show and explain how this works and what results were found, there are a lot of ways we rear end organise our thinking.


Firstly I am going to talk about Mental Images.
Mental Images is a way of organising thinking by using picturesque pictures or mountain ranges in your head that best describe the bearing or information you are trying to remember.


Using psychological images when first beginning to meet a new lyric poem has been proven very effective, as stated in starting with psychology pg 45. For example the give voice Poubelle in cut is pronounced Pooh-Bell, which translates to Bin when used in English. Your affable image of this may be a bin, with you lifting the lid which is a bell, man holding your nose for the smell of pooh.


Michael Raugh and Richard Atkinson (1975) carried out an experiment on two groups, manipulating integrity difference between them. Both Groups was asked to learn 60 words in Spanish, but only one group was taught the key word technique.



The results found the groups that were taught the keyword technique scored an comely of 88% compared to the 28% that did not use this technique, mental images potful be a powerful aid to improve memory.


second I am going to talk about Concepts.
Concept formation is a process of making a mental representation of a group of objects or events that share equal properties as described in starting with psychology pg 50. A concept is a thought or idea that represents a set of related ideas. For Example take the word Animal, this word is a concept but it also has other Sub-concepts.
