Taken from the true story about the sprightliness of welter-weight champion Mickey shield, The Fighter is an amazing film that captures non only the intent of Mickey Ward and his journey to winner but it excessively shows the trammel nets and influences family has on an individuals life and just how rewarding, and sometimes damaging, they can be.
The Fighter is centered on exploring the incredible rise of Massachusetts-born, junior welterweight title winner Irish Micky Ward. Micky who is one of the most centered and determined individual in his family has the goal of climbing through the ranks to win the title not only for himself but excessively for the pride of his family. Coached and managed by his sidekick Dicky Ward and his mother Alice Ward, Micky not only has to compact his opponent but also fight the struggles of his brothers addiction to drugs and his mothers overbearing managing skills.



It is evident that the moment this film begins that the Ward brothers are extremely close and both value the bond they have with each other. We first natter them in the disruption credits, joking, laughing, and pretending to do boxing punches to one another in a flash showing us as the audience that they have a sacred and strong bond. Within minutes you can also tell the differences that define the two as complete opposites. We see Micky signifying the responsible one out of the two who keeps the level laissez passer and keeps his eye on the prize of what he wants as he tries to keep his brother Dickey focused on work. We also see Micky as the quieter and more reserved brother who follows either direction that is usually is given to him in the movie.
